| Lucy has some very unusual neighbours. They have horns and tails, humps and trunks! All because Lucy lives at 64 Zoo Lane, right next door to the zoo. Every night, she climbs out of her window, slides down the long neck of Georgina the Giraffe and listens to one of the animals tell her a story...

This is the original Georgina, a paper maché model I made 19 years ago. Little did she realise that she would one day be the star of an animated TV series! I started developing 64 Zoo Lane in 1993. In 1998 production started, and for two years I was very busy writing, designing and directing! Lots of talented people worked on 64 Zoo Lane. It was a very rewarding project because everyone was so enthusiastic about the characters. 64 Zoo Lane was first aired on BBC in 2000. The programme was nominated for a BAFTA in 2000 and won the Best Pre-school Series Award at the British Animation Awards in 2002. Watch
out for Lucy and her animal friends on Cbeebies and Playhouse
Disney in the UK. In the US it's on pre-school channel Noggin. |
