YOU WILL NEED:

• autumn leaves in varying colours and shapes, acorns, small pine cones, conkers etc. (avoid fungi!)
• a large piece of cardboard
• white paper
• PVA glue
• colouring pencils, crayons
or felt tips
• glue spreader or stiff paintbrush
• scissors
• (OPTIONAL) paint

leaves

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. First go for a stroll in the park and collect lots of leaves. If the leaves are wet, leave them to dry.

2. (OPTIONAL) Paint the cardboard in shades of red, brown and yellow.

3. Arrange a few leaves on the cardboard. Strips of bark and twigs make excellent tree trunks!

4. Spread some glue onto the cardboard and start sticking.

5. Draw Squirrel and his friends Bat, Mouse and Toad on sheets of white paper. Colour in and cut out. And why not add some more woodland creatures?

7. Stick the animals onto the woodland scene and leave to dry.
